What are Electrical Sensors?

Electronic gadgets called detectors, and transducers sense current, voltage, and other quantities that sends signals to the inputs of controllers or display screens. Hall effect detection is a common way used in electrical sensors. However, there are some approaches. Its operational temperature range, minimum and maximum measurement ranges, sensor type, and sensor function are important criteria. Electrical sensors provide information about the condition of an electrical system required in anything from railway systems to the monitoring of fans, pumps, and heaters.

Where to Install Electrical Sensors

In areas where the physical parameter or phenomenon measured is present:

Temperature sensors should be where temperature needs to be monitored, such as HVAC ducts or industrial processes. Similarly, flow sensors should be in areas where fluid flow needs to be monitored, such as in pipe systems.

In areas where the sensor will not be damaged or affected by external factors:

It should be away from physical damage, such as vibration or impact, and environmental factors, such as dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

In areas where the sensor can be accessed for maintenance and calibration:

Sensors need regular maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate and reliable operation. They should be in areas where they can be easily accessed for these purposes without disrupting the system or process.

In areas where it will provide the most accurate readings:

Sensors should be placed in locations where they will provide the most accurate readings. It may involve considering factors such as sensor orientation, proximity to other equipment, and ambient conditions.

Common Types of Electrical Sensors

  1. Proximity Sensors
  2. Position Sensors
  3. Light Sensors
  4. Pressure Sensors
  5. Temperature Sensors
  6. Flow Sensors
